Privacy policy
This policy covers the Snub Phone website at snubphone.app, the launch list you can join there and the emails we send to people on that list.
Who we are
Snub Phone is run by Vartari Arkadiusz Rosiak, a sole trader in Poland. Vartari Arkadiusz Rosiak is the controller of your personal data.
- Address: ul. Wawrzyńca Engeströma 10, 60-571 Poznań, Poland
- NIP: 7822891454
- Email for anything about your data: hello@snubphone.app
We have not appointed a data protection officer.
What this page does on your device
- This site sets no cookies and uses no
sessionStorage. - It runs no analytics, no third-party scripts, no third-party fonts and no embeds. Your browser connects only to snubphone.app and api.snubphone.app.
- If you click Light or Dark in the theme control, we save that one choice in your browser's
localStorage, under the nametheme, with the note “Saved on this device”. Nothing is saved before you click. Choosing System removes the saved choice, and the page follows your device setting again. - The language comes from the page address: pages under /en/ are in English. If you open the bare address snubphone.app, we send you to a language based on your browser's language setting. Nothing is saved for this.
What we collect when you sign up
Required. Your email address and your phone type (iPhone, Android or Both). Giving your data is voluntary, but without these two you cannot sign up.
Optional. You can leave these out and still be on the list:
- your answer to “Who are you with?” (With kids, With your partner or Solo);
- your answer to the question shown after you sign up, up to 500 characters. Please write only the app name and no personal details.
Recorded automatically with your signup:
- the language of the page you signed up on, so our emails reach you in that language;
- the path of that page and any
utm_*parameters in its address; - which version of the page you saw (with iPhone or Android pictures);
- the version of the consent text shown above the button;
- when you signed up and when you confirmed;
- technical data: a hashed form of your confirmation link's token, and a log of the emails we sent you, so we can limit resends.
We do not store your IP address or your browser's User-Agent with your signup.
Why, and on what legal basis
| What | Why | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| Email, phone type, language, your optional answers | To keep you on the launch list and send you the emails described below, with the right app link for your phone | Your consent, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR |
Page path, utm_* parameters, page version |
To see which channels bring people to the list | Our legitimate interest in judging those channels, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR |
| Consent record: consent text version, dates of signup, confirmation and unsubscribing | To show that you gave your consent | Our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, together with our duty to show consent under Art. 7(1) GDPR |
| Server logs and visit statistics | To keep the site secure and to count visits in totals | Our legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR |
You can withdraw your consent at any time, as easily as you gave it (Art. 7(3) GDPR). Withdrawing does not affect what we did before. Where we rely on our legitimate interest, you can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR).
Emails we send
- Confirmation. One email with a link to confirm your address. It contains nothing else.
- Welcome. A short email from Arek after you confirm.
- Launch. An email when the app is out.
- Feedback. A few short questions about how it went.
Every email except the confirmation has an unsubscribe link, and your email program can show an unsubscribe button for it. Unsubscribing takes one click and works at once. For 30 days you can press Undo and stay on the list. You can also unsubscribe by writing to hello@snubphone.app.
Visit statistics
We count visits on our servers, not in your browser.
- Our servers send three events to our analytics service:
signup_submitted,signup_confirmedandunsubscribed. Each carries an identifier of the signup (not your email address), the language, the page version and anyutm_*parameters. - Page views are counted from the server logs. Each page view gets its own random identifier, so separate visits cannot be linked to one person.
- We never send your IP address, your browser's User-Agent or your email address to the analytics service, and we build no profiles of people.
Who helps us (processors)
These companies process data for us, under processing agreements:
- AWS: the network that delivers the site (CloudFront), file storage (S3), the functions behind the signup form (Lambda), sending email (SES), protection against attacks (WAF) and our backups. The data is kept in the Frankfurt region. Pages reach you from AWS locations in Europe and North America.
- MongoDB Atlas: the database that holds the launch list, running on AWS in Frankfurt.
- PostHog Cloud EU: the analytics service that receives the server events described above.
- Zoho Mail, in its EU data centre: the hello@snubphone.app mailbox, where emails you send us arrive.
Transfers outside the EU
Some of these companies, or the companies they work with, are based outside the EU. For companies certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, the transfer is based on Commission decision 2023/1795. For the others, it is based on the standard contractual clauses in our processing agreements (Art. 46(2) GDPR). Write to hello@snubphone.app for a copy of these safeguards.
How long we keep data
- Signups you do not confirm: deleted after 7 days.
- Confirmed signups: until you unsubscribe, and at most 12 months after the launch email.
- After you unsubscribe: your signup stays for 30 days, so Undo works, and is then deleted.
- Consent record: after you unsubscribe, or after an email to you bounces or is reported as spam, we keep only a hashed form of your address, the dates and the consent text version, for 3 years. We also check it before every email, so we do not write to you again.
- Backups: 35 days, so data we delete also disappears from the backups.
- Logs of the network that delivers the site (CloudFront), which include IP addresses: 30 days.
- Logs of the functions behind the form: 90 days. They never contain your email address.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- restrict how we use it;
- give it to you in a format you can move elsewhere.
You can also object to our use of your data where we rely on our legitimate interest, and withdraw your consent at any time. Write to hello@snubphone.app.
Complaints
You can complain to the Polish data protection authority: President of the Personal Data Protection Office (Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych), ul. Stanisława Moniuszki 1A, 00-014 Warszawa, Poland. If you live in another country, you can also complain to the data protection authority there.
No automated decisions
We make no decisions about you by automated means alone, and we do no profiling.
The app
The app is not released yet. This policy covers the website, the launch list and our emails.
